Super Moon

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

The moon, a “supermoon”, rises over the U.S. Capitol dome in Washington, Saturday, March 19, 2011. Scientists estimate the “supermoon” rising in the east at sunset will appear 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter at its peak. Full moons vary in size because of the oval shape of its orbit, with one end closer to Earth. On Saturday March 19th, the moon was 221,565 miles away,€” the closest to Earth since March 1993.

Now, Back to the News

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

I spent Tuesday on Capitol Hill for McClatchy Tribune News Service. A quick portrait session with TARP Chairwoman Elizabeth Warren in her spartan offices, then a few minutes with 75 year-old Senator Grassely as he tweets between meetings in the Hart Senate Office Building, and finished with a 20-second photo-op of Senator Crapo meeting Supreme Court Justice nominee Sonia Sotomayor.

All-in-all, it was less than 15-minutes of actual shooting.

Fri 6/19: Got a call from a photo editor at Business Week who wants to use one of the Elizabeth Warren images :-)
